6 - A Look in the Mirror!

Proverbs 27:
19. A mirror reflects a man's face,
but what he is really like is shown by the kind of friends he chooses.

Are you very concerned with how you look to others?
Do you take care when dress yourself, that you look good in the mirror?
That's good.
We all need to present a good appearance to others.

However, Proverbs tells us that what we are really like on the inside will determine the direction our lives take.
What we are like on the inside is called CHARACTER.
That's who we really are.
Your character is made up of the complex mix of all your thoughts and conclusions about life, which cause you to take the moral and ethical actions and reactions that you do.

Our character can be known by looking at our lifestyle, but Proverbs 27 : 19 says that where people can really see what we are like, is by looking at the kinds of friends we choose.

There is the old saying, "Birds of a feather, flock together." In other words, people have friends who are like themselves.

So what do your friends reflect about your character?
Are your friends drawing you closer to God's path for your life, or away from Him?

Prayer:
Father, I ask that You will give me wisdom in my choice of friends.
Also, please help me be the kind of friend who draws others towards You,
in Jesus' name,
Amen.
